DecBaluchistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai has emphasized promotion of religious harmony and tolerance in the society. Addressing a Christmas ceremony in Quetta, he said the constitution of Pakistan has ensured protection of fundamental rights to all minorities in the country. The Governor said the Christian community has been positively contributing to progress in the province. Referring to Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, governor said that he during his period took serious notice of corruption and nepotism and warned that without getting rid of these menaces it would be difficult to survive. He regretted that we did not take any lesson from this. He said, if senior officers and particularly secretaries discharge their duties can be overcome with ease. About ghost teachers and schools he said every one makes announcement of it but nation still awaits implementation of these announcements. There is need that immediate practical measures should be taken for removing ghost teachers and schools. DecGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the crash of PIA flight from Chitral to Islamabad on Wednesday. In his condolence message Governor Achakzai said that it is national tragedy. He said that people of Baluchistan are grieved over the loss of valuable lives and share the grief of the families who lost their deer ones. Governor prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed souls with eternal peace and grant of courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
DecGovernor stresses need of holding timely census throughout country particularly in Balochistan like rest of the country, the National Voters’ Day is being celebrated across the province. In this connection, various functions are being held to highlight the significance of Vote and a voter. On this occasion, a function was held at the Governor House Quetta on Wednesday. Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai was the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants of the function, he urged the election commission to adopt new scientific mechanism to ensure holding of all types of elections in a transparent, independent and impartial manners. He also stressed the need of holding timely census throughout the country especially in Baluchistan to ensure participation of a maximum number of people to exercise their right to vote in an adequate manner. The Governor expressed the hope that the election commission would try its level best to ensure holding of local bodies and general elections as per constitutional and legal norms which would lead to strengthen democracy in the country. NovGovernor Baluchistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai expressed his concern over presence of ghost teachers and schools in the province and urged authorities concern to take stern action against them. He said the there are ghost teachers and schools in different districts of Baluchistan adding that the authorities concerned must take result oriented measurements against them. He was addressing a concluding session of teachers training program held under Secondary Education Department here in Quetta.The Governor said that quality education made stimulates the minds of people and enables to raise new questions. He said education department should ensure the provision of quality education at all educational institutions of the province. He said that education should be imparted in regional mother languages including Pashto, Balochi and Brahvi, as saying that syllabus books in mother languages helped students in understanding lessons. He said that Pakistan like countries could not get benefit from modern revolutions occurred in agriculture and industries in rest of the world. It is need of hour to equip our youth with modern scientific education, especially knowledge pertaining to information technology. Referring to corruption Governor Achakzai said that corruption could be eliminated in government departments if provincial secretaries and other responsible officers perform their duties honestly. SepThe federal government will have to render more dynamic cooperation for stipulation of infra-structure and modernization of primary facilities condition in Baluchistan. This was emphasized by Governor Baluchistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai while talking with Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday at Governor House Quetta. Governor Achakzai pressed, during the meeting for expediting pace of constructing works of the Sibi-Harnai railway track and its restoration. Regarding survey of deserving people under the Benazir Income Support Program, he said the total population of Baluchistan was equivalent to one district of other provinces. Not only selected districts but the entire province should be included in the survey which would be bear results of federal government's positive consequences. Governor Baluchistan showed dissatisfaction over the slow implementation of Aghaz e Haqooq Baluchistan package and stressed for its early completion in order over-come poverty and joblessness in province. Governor Achakzai also suggested for deployment of motorway police on Karachi to Quetta and Quetta to Zhobe highways. AugGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said that all efforts would be made for the betterment of special children and the scientific advancement can help to change the disability into strength. He was addressing the conference on United Nation Convention regarding "Rights of the Disabled Persons" organized by UNHCR -RAHA in Quetta. He urged the provincial government to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities including 2% quota of the special persons in government services. He appreciated the efforts made by UNHCR-RAHA and SOCIO Pakistan for the special children and persons with disabilities. He said data of special children in the province would be collected and more special children schools will be established. Governor Balochistan announced three million rupees for the institutions of specials children. UNHCR provincial head, Dr Dinesh Lal Sreshtha, UN women head Balochistan Ms Rehana Khilji , Secretary Education Saboor Kakar, participants from civil society, social activists and government line department were also present.

AugPrime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday chaired a high level meeting here to review the progress on development projects and security situation in Balochistan province. The meeting was attended by Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Balochistan, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and senior civil and military authorities, said a PM Hose press release. The Prime Minister was given a comprehensive briefing on the latest security situation and initiatives taken by the federal, provincial governments, armed forces and authorities of law enforcement agencies to engage the people of Balochistan for improving social and political milieu of the province. The meeting was also briefed about the development projects including the ones inaugurated by the Prime Minister on his arrival at the Governor House. The meeting agreed to provide full security to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Balochistan.

JunThe establishment of high educational institutes is a well come move, however, merely constructing buildings and formation of institutions will bear no contribution, Governor Baluchistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai said on Tuesday while talking with delegation of Bolan Medical College Teachers welfare association headed by Prof Dr Saeed Muhammad Saleem. Governor Baluchistan dismayed over the matter that the strength of universities has been continuously increasing in the entire region, but most of these universities have no worth mentioning role and their degrees have no value at international level. Not only the number of doctors has increased in Balochistan but doctors have also obtained high degrees in their relevant fields. Muhammad Khan Achakzai said but in spite of the fact, it is regretful reality that no significant improvement has achieved in the provision of better health facilities. He went on to say that burden of patients to be decreased in government hospitals and logically its performance should be up to the mark but the situation is contradictory to it. Governor Balochistan urged upon the senior doctors to play role for improving the health sector abide by their responsibilities and punctuality.

He said Balochistan population is even smaller than several districts of other provinces and thus provision of basic facilities is a ticklish task. AprGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has said that the 19th and 20th centuries have been the centuries of inventions and innovations based on ever increasing knowledge and scientific knowledge. These advances and inventions have enriched human life. It has to begin with freed the human mind from drudgery of physical labor to the accumulation of ever increasing knowledge. These views were expressed while addressing the International Conference on Computing, Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Balochistan University of Information technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) here on Monday. Scientists and Researchers from Russia, New-Zealand and Turkey have also attended two-day International Conference. On this occasion Governor Balochistan said the agriculture revolution has freed humans from the scarcity of burger while industrial revolution brought in a variety of products even overcoming the hazards of weather. He said that we are now in the mids of the information revolution that has made such inventions as the telegraphs extinct and given a mobile phone in every hand. Electronics are now facilitating almost every aspect of our life be it medicine, calculations, data-analysis, mechanical machines and robots in the factories. He said that it is irony of fate that for good or bad reason all these inventions and innovations and increased knowledge is even today limited to a few countries. Asia, Africa and Latin America collectively are lagging far behind. He said technology itself is fast changing and hopped that scientists would come out with solutions for the country. Later on governor Achakzai distributed shields among the participants.
AprGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has said law and order situation has improved in the province due to measures taken by the government. He said this while speaking on the eve of 25th anniversary of Baluchistan’s Rural Support Program in Quetta. The Governor urged NGOs to work for improving living standard of the people of far-flung areas of Balochistan.
AprBalochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said that changes in Balochistan pertaining to economic development would pave a way for vast job opportunities and in this connection educated women will play their pivotal role in the development of province. He has underlined the need for promoting girls’ education in the province and said that no society could develop without equipping its women with education. Speaking at the seventh convocation ceremony of the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University (SBKWU) on Tuesday, he said Balochistan could only achieve its development goals by promoting girls’ education. Balochistan Assembly Speaker Raheela Durrani, SBKWU Vice Chancellor Rukhsana Jabeen, Balochistan University Vice Chancellor Dr Javed Iqbal, Adviser to Chief Minister on Education Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech, MPA Yasmeen Lehri and a large number of teachers and students attended the ceremony.“It is a good indicator that people have been enrolling their daughters in universities,” the governor noted, saying that growing enrollment was indicative of a silent revolution. Praising the performance of the SBK Women University, he said: “The varsity is producing well-educated, enlightened and moderate women in Balochistan.” VC Rukhsana Jabeen in her address of welcome highlighted the achievements and future plans of the university. Later on Governor Achakzai distributed gold medals, pens of honors and certificates among the graduating students who had completed their graduating courses.
AprGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai said that the world is changing so fast and in the view of rapidly changing global affairs and particularly in the perspective of underway gigantic uplift process in the regional countries, there is dire need of durable peace in the entire region including Afghanistan. These views were expressed by Governor Balochistan in meeting with Ambassador of European Union in Pakistan Mr Jean Francois Cautain here on Thursday. On this occasion governor said that the current era is of co-existence and there is no leeway of solo flight in it. Therefore, the exigency of hour is to move jointly. Replying to a question about the sectarian violence in Quetta, Governor Balochistan added it was a challenge for Balochistan Government, although due to the excellent initiatives of Government to the different sects had earned positives consequences. Meanwhile Ambassador of European Union admired the efforts of Pakistan against the war on terrorism and assured that EU would have been continuing provision of basic life amenities ahead to the masses of Balochistan.

MarSports and physical demonstrations at the Balochistan Sports Festival are the beginning of celebration Pakistan Day. This was stated by Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai while addressing inaugural ceremony of third Balochistan Sports Festival here on Thursday. Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zahri and Commander southern Command Lt General Aamir Riaz also addressed on the occasion and sports minister Mir Mujib ur Rehman Mohammad Hassani presented address of welcome. Members of provincial cabinet, Chief Secretary, IG police, civil and military officers and great number of women and students also attended opening ceremony. Players from all divisions of province, educational institutes and special children presented March past. International fame players were also present. Pakistan Air force aircrafts and Mashaq aircrafts fly-past presented salute. Horse riding, cultural dances of four provinces and different parts of Balochistan were presented while a smartly tuned out contingent of Pakistan Army had a magnificent drill. A torch was lit on the occasion which would continue till end of festival.
MarGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has said that in view of successful economic policies and best strategies of government foreign investors are being once again turned up to Balochistan and showing deep interest to invest in different sectors. Foreign investment would help remove backwardness of the province, improving people’s living and creating new avenues of employment. These views were expressed by Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai while speaking with Chinese delegation of multi-national company which called him at Balochistan House in Islamabad on Saturday. Governor assured Chinese multinational company representatives that foreign investment would be welcomed in any part of the country particularly Balochistan and government would ensure all sorts security and necessarily facilities. He said there are attracting opportunities of investment in different sectors of the provinces and conductive atmosphere has also been ensuring owning to government measurements. He called upon investors to take benefit from opportunities available in the province. Representative of Chinese informed Governor Balochistan that it was interested in investment for building bridges, railway lines and heavy machinery production. Welcoming Chinese investment, Governor said China has always rendered valuable cooperation in basic sectors. We also welcome Chinese investment in different sectors as mentioned now.
MarGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has directed for improving education standard, protection of educational institutes and teachers and students is top priority of provincial government. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of provincial Board of Governors of Cadet Colleges in Quetta. Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai says that education method in Cadet Colleges should be made according to present day challenges. Governor said that colleges play an important role in character building of youth there for special attention to be given to youth in colleges. The Governor also stressed the early release of funds for completion of under-construction cadet colleges.
MarGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said we should avoid unnecessary use of water in view of the rapidly under-ground water depletion. He said this while addressing a seminar at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University Quetta titled, “The issue of water and future strategy in Quetta and Balochistan”. Governor Balochistan said urgent steps are required to preserve the rain water otherwise the situation would reach to an alarming stage. He said more and more dams should be constructed to overcome water crises. MarGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has expressed pleasure and satisfaction over the safe recovery from captivity of Shahbaz Taseer abducted son of former Punjab Governor Salman Taseer after almost five years. While appreciating performance of Law enforcement agencies he said that if they continued to work with the same spirit then ulterior motives of anti-social elements can be foiled. He urged the people to joined hands together with law enforcement agencies for elimination of terrorist elements and end of crimes. He also congratulated family of Shahbaz Taseer for his safe recovery.

Governor said development of Gwadar particularly completing China Pakistan Economic Corridor would not only bring betterment in economy of Pakistan and Balochistan but it would have vast positive impacts on economic and trade activities of entire region. He said it is irony of fate that Balochistan got provincial status quite late and attention could not be paid on development of infrastructure. It was realized that Pakistan’s future is linked with Balochistan. But now added attention was being paid on development of province and addressing difficulties of people. It is hoped that soon Balochistan would start process of multi-dimensional development process. Answering a question Governor Achakzai said government is being in contact with angry Baloch leaders and process of talks is under-way. Hopefully there would be positive headway in this regard soon. He said in the history of the region good trains from China have reached Tehran which is a revolutionary and good gesture. He said we should also evolve strategy for benefiting from gigantic changes; we should change our behavior and priorities to move with modern world.
FebGovernor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai said paying attention to the health of new generation is imperative for ensuring healthier future. For this purpose we have to eliminate fatal diseases hitting children including polio. These views were expressed by governor Balochistan while speaking a delegation of Rotary International here on Monday. Delegation was led by Aziz Memon Chairman Polio plus Committee of Rotary International Pakistan. Acting Health Secretary Asif Akram and provincial coordinator Anti-polio Dr Aftab Kakar were also present. Governor regretted that we are still behind Afghanistan in eradicating polio. He urged the need for cooperation with neighboring countries Afghanistan and Iran for elimination of fatal disease of polio. He said special monitoring should be made on movement across borders in view of anti-polio campaign. He proposed that anti-polio matters should be brought under considerations at their meetings on border and political affairs with Afghanistan and Iran. Highlighting government efforts in Pakistan with particular reference to Balochistan, Governor said anti-polio teams were being provided security and several security officials have sacrificed their lives while performing security duty to anti-polio teams. He said active part of society such as elected representatives and Ulema from different schools of thoughts and media associated persons as well should play their role effectively. He also stressed the need for provision of drinkable water and to put an end to environmental pollution in rural areas for end of polio and other diseases. He appreciated the role of administration officers particularly deputy commissioners for successful anti-polio campaigns in different districts of Balochistan and expressed hope if this trend was maintained and duty was performed with of services of masses then Balochistan can become free of polio. He also appealed to the parent to give anti-polio drops to their children in order to safeguard them from life-long disability and cooperate with anti-polio teams.

The delegation apprised the Governor about activities of world food program in Pakistan particularly in Balochistan. On this occasion Governor said that effective steps are being taken to construct dams in the province to improve decreasing level of water in the province. Jan12-member Balochistan Cabinet on Tuesday took oath at a ceremony held here at Governor House. Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai administered oath to the new Ministers. Balochistan The new provincial Cabinet includes, Nawab Jangez Khan Marri, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, Nawab Ayaz Jogezai, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel, Sardar Muhammad Aslam Bizenjo, Sardar Sarfaraz Domki, Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Mir Mujib-ul-Rehman Muhammad Hassani, Sardar Mustafa Khan Tarin, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch and Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal. Four Ministers including Nawab Ayaz Jogezai, Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Sardar Mustafa Khan Tarin and Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal who took oath belonged to Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP). The National Party's (NP) four Ministers took oath including Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Mir Mujib-ul-Rehman Muhammad Hassani, Sardar Aslam Bizenjo and Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani. Three Ministers belonging to PML-N were Nawab Jangez Marri, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and Sardar Sarfaraz Domki while one Minister hailing from PML-Q, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel also took oath. JanThe Governor Balochistan has said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring economic revolution in the country and this project will also benefit the entire region as well as the dwellers of Gwadar. This he said while presiding over a meeting of Gwadar Development Authority at Gwadar. The Governor urged the people of Gwadar to equip their children with modern technical education as the work on mega projects have been started. He said that the development of Gwadar is the development of the local people and their partnership is inevitable in this process. Earlier the Governor briefed by Director General GDA Dostain Jamaldini about the ongoing development projects in Gwadar. DG told that the state of the art Gwadar International Airport is being constructed with the cooperation of Chine for which 4300 Acre land has been acquired. He told that various agreements have been signed between China and Pakistan added that six doctor of Gwadar have been sent to China for training under the agreement. Meanwhile, 22 members delegation led by Governor Sistan Balochistan Iran, Ali Awast Hashmi called on the Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai. On the occasion the Governor Balochistan said that Pakistan and Iran are brother countries and people living in both countries having same traditions. He said that Pakistan has brotherly relations with Iran and serious steps are being taken to strengthen the relations. He said that Gwadar-Chabahar Railway line, border trade line, new shipping and airline projects are being reviewed. Other matters pertaining to mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.

Farooq Ahmed Bazai Vice Chancellor Balochistan University of Engineering Technology and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) held at Quetta the other day.The Vice Chancellor Balochistan University Professor Dr Javed Iqbal, VC SBK Women University Professor Dr Rukhsana Jabeen, VC UET Khuzdar Brigadier (R) Mohammad Amin, VC University of Loralai Professor Dr Abdullah Khan, VC University of Turbat Professor Dr Abdul Razaq Sabir, VC Lasbella university of Agriculture, water and Marine Sciences Professor Dr Dost Mohammad Baloch, Secretary Education and Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan attended the meeting. During the meeting various decisions regarding Educational Activities, Financial Matters, and establishment of University campuses in various districts, adherence of high court judgments, improvement and expansion of universities of Balochistan and to make government colleges as degree awarding institutes were taken. Decision of setting up new university campuses in Zhob, Wadh, Naseerabad, Hub and Noshki was also taken during the meeting.
