Development projects in Balochistan are the top most the agenda of the government. The era of the prosperity in the country will begin with the completion of these projects in Balochistan. DecGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai administered the oath to President of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri as the chief Minister of Balochistan in oath taking ceremony here at Governor House Quetta. The ceremony was attended by former chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, leaders of different political parties and senior civil and military officials. Earlier, former Balochistan chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch tendered his resignation on Wednesday and Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has already accepted it.

He said that your success has introduced to the world of opportunities on one hand while as per emerging demands of new phase, huge responsibilities have come before them but obligations to contribute society as they are a few of the educated. Governor Achakzai said that we are living in highly competitive world that demands to equip our man-power with the best technological skills in all fields so that they can compete under the sun. He said that there is a room for the improvement both in system of education and governance and we must work for a turn around. Earlier Governor Balochistan conferred on degrees and awarded gold medals among graduating students of their performance.

DecBalochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has called for creating conducive environment and restoration of peace in Afghanistan for the repatriation of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan for the past three and half decades. He was talking to a delegation led by German ambassador in Pakistan Ms Ina Lepel in Quetta on Monday. The Governor said the repatriation of Afghan refugees is a serious and difficult issue and called for joint efforts to overcome the difficulties. He lauded Germany and other international organizations for providing health and civic facilities to the refugees and local dwellers of Balochistan.

DecChief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattah has said that work on western route of Pak-China Economic Corridor is being started soon. This he stated during a meeting with Governor, Mohammad Khan Achakzai in Quetta on Wednesday. He said National Highway Authority will extend Dera Ismail Khan-Mughal Kot-Zhob Section (N-50) highway and construct dual carriage way road as all the remaining link roads of western route will be connected with N-50 section. Governor welcomed the initiative of work on western route of CPEC and said after completion, it will usher in an era of development in the province.
DecThe Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai has directed the National Highway Authority to expedite the pace of construction and repair work on highways in Balochistan, talking to the Provincial head of NHA Mohammad IIlyas Fazal who called on him at Governor House Quetta. He said that the new era of prosperity and development is being started in Balochistan and we have to make highways and communication sources according to future’s requirements. He said that if National Highways and Links roads are completed in Province so the construction on western part of China Pak Economic Corridor will be easy. He directed to Motorway police would also be deployed on highways across the province to prevent road accidents. He lamented over delay in completion of Zhob D.I.Khan road and directed to its completion while he also directed to completed construction of Quetta Chaman Highways Soon. On the occasion, the Provincial head of NHA briefed the governor about the performance of his department.
DecGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai accompanied by three provincial ministers Nawab Ayaz Jogezai, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Dr Hamid Khan Achakzai has gone to Zhob on one day visit. During the visit, Goverenor Achakzai inaugurated water supply scheme for Zhob town. Later on he addressed public gathering. He said work on Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan road will be started soon. Addressing tribal notables and elected representatives in Zhob, he said Gwadar-Kashghar road would usher a new era of development and prosperity and eradicate backwardness. He said restoration of peace in the province is the top most priority of the government. The Governor said that water supply project would be implemented soon to resolve the water problem in Zhob city and its outskirts. Later on he visited DC office and frontier corps mess also where he inspected the historical buildings and things of British time.
NovGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai said that there is a positive correlation between education for women, child and maternal mortality. Investment is education, especially of women would raise the average age of marriage. NovGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has urged youth of the province to get education and equip themselves with modern knowledge and technology. This he said while addressing parents day ceremony at Sui Military College. He said that without promoting education, we could not get goals of progress and prosperity. Addressing the ceremony, Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that Sui Military College is playing important role in imparting education to youth of the province.

OctThe acting Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Abdul Quddoos Bezinjo was sworn in as acting governor of the province on Tuesday. Balochistan High Court senior judge Jamal Khan Mandokhel administrated the oath to Mr. Bezinjo at a ceremony held at the Governor’s House. He said with its cooperation there are tremendous opportunities and possibilities for overcoming energy crisis exploring new vistas. He said Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan which is rich in natural resources particularly in mineral resources. But we lack in resources to exploit these resources. He said with cooperation of developed countries as Russia we can mobilize these opportunities in different sectors for bright future of our people. He said in the past we had set up basic industry steel-Mill with the cooperation of Russia. We are sure, there will be solid advancement in different sectors owing to revival of our relations with Russian. He hoped that economic and commercial activities in region would benefit developed and developing countries alike and a new era of development and prosperity would usher. Russian Ambassador Alexey Dedov urged the need for further strengthening relations between two countries and expressed interest in overcoming energy crisis in Pakistan particularly extending cooperation in exploration of mines in Balochistan. He said there are close relations through shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) but there is dire need for expanding cooperation in different sectors between two countries. Pakistan can play important role in bringing peace in the region he said positive outcome coming from operation zarb e Azb which is good sign. Later on Australian High Commissioner Mrs. Margaret Adamson also called on Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai and exchanged views on bilateral relations of two countries.

Addressing the parliamentarians at Governor House Quetta today, president said Pak-China Economic corridor project would not only create job opportunities but it would also lead Pakistan towards progress and prosperity. President said that Pakistan biggest problem today is corruption which is badly undermining the progress of all institutions. He urged the parliamentarians and people to start war against corruption and boycott the corrupt elements of the society. President asked the people to support the government to complete all development projects. President said we did not construct Kala Bagh dam and also failed to construct any alternate dam. President said we are facing problems but Insha Allah we would soon overcome these problems and some countries also helping Pakistan in this regard. OctPresident Mamnoon Hussain has said that Balochistan would get immense benefit through Pak-China Economic Corridor project. Addressing the media persons at Governor House Quetta tonight he said that this mega project would also provide benefit to central Asian countries. He said the CPEC project envisages several projects of motorways and energy as well as development of port and international airport at Gwadar. President apprised that the route of CPEC has not been changed and motorways would be constructed where they are necessary. Mamnoon Hussian said that work is in progress on Diyamir and Bhasha Dams after their completion 9000 Mega Watt electricity would be included in national grid. He urged all segment of the society to play their role for elimination of corruption from the country. Replying a question, he said that the established commission by the government is investigating the Nandi Pur Power Project and the report will be made public and it will clear all the facts. Mamoon Hussain said that a division of Pak Army comprising more than 9000 personnel has been deployed for the protection of those who are working on CPEC project. He said that after implementation of Nation Action Plan the positive changes are being prevailed in Balochistan as the insurgents are laying down weapons before the government. To reply another question, he said that the federal government has announced Kisan Package for the whole country not only for a particular province.

SepThe representative of United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pakistan Indrika Ratwatte called on the Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai in Quetta. During meeting, issues of Afghan refugees, two years extension in repatriation of refugees and establishment of trilateral commission of Pakistan, Afghanistan and United Nation were discussed. AugGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said that all efforts would be made for the betterment of special children and the scientific advancement can help to change the disability into strength. He was addressing the conference on United Nation Convention regarding "Rights of the Disabled Persons" organized by UNHCR -RAHA in Quetta. He urged the provincial government to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities including 2% quota of the special persons in government services. He appreciated the efforts made by UNHCR-RAHA and SOCIO Pakistan for the special children and persons with disabilities. He said data of special children in the province would be collected and more special children schools will be established. Governor Balochistan announced three million rupees for the institutions of specials children. UNHCR provincial head, Dr Dinesh Lal Sreshtha, UN women head Balochistan Ms Rehana Khilji , Secretary Education Saboor Kakar, participants from civil society, social activists and government line department were also present.

The meeting was attended by Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Balochistan, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and senior civil and military authorities, said a PM Hose press release. The Prime Minister was given a comprehensive briefing on the latest security situation and initiatives taken by the federal, provincial governments, armed forces and authorities of law enforcement agencies to engage the people of Balochistan for improving social and political milieu of the province. The meeting was also briefed about the development projects including the ones inaugurated by the Prime Minister on his arrival at the Governor House. The meeting agreed to provide full security to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Balochistan.

JunCommencement of international flight for Dubai from Quetta would not only provide air travel facilities to the dwellers of both country and province but it would also pave way for the promotion of trade and tourism in the province. MayPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Government is determined to eradicate terrorism and extremism from the country. He was presiding over a high level meeting at Governor’s House on law and order situation in Balochistan in the backdrop of recent Mastung incident. He directed for immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the incident and bring them to justice. He said Pakistan's enemies are not happy with the country's progress and development and want to weaken it through such incidents. He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb going on successfully in North Waziristan would continue till the elimination of last terrorist. Earlier, Chief Secretary Balochistan briefed the meeting on law and order situation in the province in general and Mastung incident in particular.On this occasion, the meeting offered fateha for the departed souls of Mastung victims.The meeting was attended by Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister, Abdul Malik Baloch, Federal Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for SAFRON, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister of State for Petroleum, Jam Kamal, Balochistan Minister for Mines, Sanaullah Zehri, Provincial Ministers, Commander Southern Command, IGFC and IG Police Balochistan. Later, addressing the provincial political leadership, Prime Minister emphasized the need for forging national unity to foil the nefarious designs of internal and external enemies against the country. He said the enemy is using different tactics to divide the nation on sectarian and ethnic grounds but we will thwart their designs with unity. Addressing the provincial political leadership in Quetta on Tuesday, describing the Mastung incident as a tragedy, the Prime Minister appreciated the responsible posture adopted by the political leadership of the province in the wake of the incident. Some internal or external elements might be behind this horrific incident.Nawaz Sharif regretted the Indian statement against Pakistan-China economic corridor project. He said the statement has clearly exposed the Indian designs of hegemony. He appreciated China for rejecting the baseless reservations of India on the mega project. He said the opponents of corridor project exist both within and outside the country and we will have to take extra ordinary measures to confront them. He said the mega Chinese investment of forty six billion dollars will bring a genuine change in the country. On the situation in Balochistan, Nawaz Sharif said overall law and order situation has improved in the province since the assumption of power by the government. He said we are committed to bring further improvement in the situation. Normalcy will be restored in the province including Quetta at all costs.

Both the leaders discussed investment opportunities in the mineral-rich Balochistan and further improvement in Law and Order situation in the province. MayA delegation headed by Chairman National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan called on Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai in Quetta on Thursday. Governor Balochistan said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring a paradigm change in the region. He said that the future of Pakistan is linked with the future of Balochistan and in terms of area Balochistan is the half of the country and rich in mineral resources. In this connection, serious efforts and hard work are required to utilize these minerals for the development of area. Governor said that we have ten rivers in Balochistan but there is no water in it and the water sacristy is being intensified in the province and in this regard construction of new dams is essential to overcome water paucity. He said that almost 200 water supply schemes had been given to the dwellers of various districts of the province from his fund which will help reduce the water shortage. Referring to the importance of coal, he underlined the need for the restoration of Coal Power Plant of Quetta. He said that due to the serious efforts of present provincial government communication system in the province is being improved. Chairman National Assembly’s standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan lauded the efforts of incumbent provincial government taking for the betterment of education and health sectors. He said that improvement is being witnessed in the communication systems as every town of province had been linked with cities through road network. He assured that measurements will be taken for the restoration of Quetta Coal Power Plant to overcome electricity shortfall.

Governor stressed the need that building of highways occupies significance for national development and prosperity of dwellers. He added that building roads from Zhob and Loralai to Dera Ghazi Khan would help remove backwardness of the area and benefit them from modern facilities produces of the goods and prepared here would have access to markets outsides the province. He said Balochistan population is small and scattered and thus access to the people and monitoring of development projects has several difficulties. Governor said newly elected local bodies institutions can play important role and assistance of newly local bodies representatives can be sought for monitoring development process. Answering a question governor Achakzai said Iran is our brother Islamic Country and we have economic and commercial relation with it and serious efforts are being made for further boasting of mutual ties. He expressed that policies and measures of the present government would have far reaching impacts.

Country Representative of UNODC Cesar Guedes, Home Secretary Akbar Husain Durrani, Additional Collector Customs Raza Baloch and others were also present on the occasion. Governor said Balochistan borders are long and connected with two neighboring countries Afghanistan and Iran. Therefore checking smuggling of narcotics is quite difficult task. However government has been mobilizing all its resources in this regard and efforts are underway for stopping use of and smuggling of narcotics. He said to achieve the objectives, we need modern technology. He thanked UNODC for its cooperation in this connection and said besides wiping out menace of narcotics, we are also taking measures for the treatment of drug addicts. He hoped that with performance of newly elected representatives of local bodies, people’s problems would be resolved at their doorstep. Governor also hosted lunch in honor of Canadian High Commissioner and her delegation.

The Chairman of Senate Standing Committee for Federation Education on the occasion expressed his concern over the limited funds for the universities of Balochistan. He said that the grant being provided to the public sector universities of the province is insufficient. He requested to the governor to play his part to Rs. 200 billion so that they may show better performance than now. He also suggested including further departments in the Turbat and Loralai universities so that the maximum students may get higher education. FebPrime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday called for accelerating the pace of work on National Action Plan (NAP) in order to thoroughly defeat the menace of terrorism from the country. "The performance of the provincial governments with regard to NAP is quite satisfactory, however provinces should excel from each others in their fight against terrorism and extremism," he said while addressing at an Apex Committee meeting held at Governor House Quetta here. FebGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, expressing concern on snail pace of under construction of developmental schemes issued directives to concerned authorities to expedite the under way projects in order to ensure early completion of these projects. Governor Balochistan chairing a meeting pertinent to 105 underway water supply schemes of 2014 and more than 70 for 2015 initiated by his development funds in various districts of Balochistan, while the velocity of these under construction schemes were reviewed in details. Addressing a meeting Governor Balochistan asked astonishingly that after activation of Khuzdar to Rathodero and D.I. Khan to Loralai Transmission lines, the dwellers of Balochistan deprived of energy so far. Currently Balochistan requires approximately 1600 MW but province does not receive even of the energy of the total demand which as caused to sustain 20 hrs load-shedding in different districts of Balochistan, he noted. Expressing concern over un-ending load-shedding Governor added non-provision of energy at time of cultivation season may give birth to the disastrous consequences. Governor Balochistan directed transforming the advantages of these two projects after completion to masses is desperately needed and sternly instructed that no- substandard materials and any laxity in these project will be tolerated. Besides Additional Chief Secretary Naseeb-ullah Khan Bazai, the representatives of other concerned departments were also present on this occasion.
FebGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai said that despite ample opportunities of rain water storages, we are confronting with sever crisis of water in Balochistan. Talking to a delegation of Musakhel led by former MPA Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel, Governor Balochistan said that consecutive extraction of water through tube-wells has undermined table of water level which has now taken quantum leap for worse in Balochistan. FebGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has stressed for coordinated planning for generating cheap electricity from coal and other alternative resources as it is inevitable for over-coming outages in Balochistan. Governor Balochistan expressed this in meeting with Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Mir Jam Kamal Khan. Governor Balochistan said timely provision of funds for Federal up-lift schemes in Province will have very positive consequence on collective prosperity and progress of Balochistan. He insisted on the early consummation of all those federally approved development projects for Balochistan in which provision of Gas and electricity along with construction of high-ways are in corporate so that masses could get benefits from them. He also urged upon consumers of electricity to submit bill on time so as provision of power could be ensured for cultivation, adding if gas facility is provided to all districts of Balochistan, It will obviously secure deforestation to a great extent. Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Mir Jam Kamal Khan articulated that Balochistan has very scanty population and if upright planning pertinent to power supply could be worked out will surely facilitate the entire population of the province. He added through restoration and activation of DI Khan to Loralai and Khazdar to Ratodero transmission line could also help greatly to overcome the menace of power clinch in Balochistan. He pinned hopes that gas stipulation of projects to Gulistan and Khanozai will be speedy implemented.

JanGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Imam Bargah in Shikarpur Lakhi Dar on Friday. While expressing deep sorrow and grief over the loss of innocent people in this act of terrorism, Governor said that the entire nation needs to be united in war against terrorism. He said the time has come; every strata of society should rise against extremism and to foil ulterior motives of terrorists. Terming this incident as cowardly act of terrorists, he said that incident would not discourage the determination of Pakistani nation. JanGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai said that enormous opportunities of mutual cooperation and development are available in various sectors including trade, energy and education in Pakistan and Tajikistan, talking to the ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Mr. Sher Ali S. Jononov who called on him the other day at Governor’s House Quetta. He said that Pakistan and Tajikistan have close friendly and brotherly relations and by promoting trade ties between both countries, we would over-come the energy crisis and would be able to get benefits from each other’s experiences in sector of science and technology. On the occasion, Tajik ambassador said that Tajikistan is keenly interested to supply cheap electricity to Pakistan. He said that his country attaches great importance to cordial relations with Pakistan and there is dire need to expand further trade relations between two Countries. Mr. Sher Ali S. Jononov expressed the hope that provision of electricity from Tajikistan to Pakistan will help over-come the energy crisis in Pakistan. Tajik ambassador Mr. Sher Ali has also invited Governor Balochistan to visit Tajikistan. Later on, Governor Balochistan presented a Shield to Tajikistan ambassador to Pakistan.

JanGovernor Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said the provision of modern transportation facilities to the public is top priority of the government. Talking to the Chairman Balochistan Development Authority Sher Khan Bazai in Quetta, he said highways are necessary for progress and prosperity of province. The Governor directed to expedite the work on Roghani-Chaman to Aabatu and Gulistan road and Syed Hameed Intersection to Gulistan. He also directed to ensure use of quality material and on time completion of highways and that negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.

JanGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai said that the constitution of the Pakistan guarantees the equal rights including religious freedom and freedom of expression to all religious minorities living in the country. It does not allow any discrimination on religious basis. These views were expressed by Governor Balochistan while speaking to a Christian delegation headed by Padre Salim Sadiq which called on him other day here in Governor House Quetta. Governor Balochistan assured the respective delegation for implementation of five percent reserved job quota for religious minorities in government set ups.
JanGovernor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has stressed upon provincial Government in order to ensure the provision of funds to all under-construction Cadet Colleges of Balochistan. Talking to Advisor to the Chief Minister on education Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech who called on him at Governor House Quetta, Governor Balochistan said that the delay delivery of Justice is equal to injustice. He underlined the need to accelerate the pace of work of under construction cadet colleges and complete them within the stipulated period. He said that non-completion of under construction work of cadet colleges within the specified time will raise new issues and difficulties. During the meeting, construction work and financial matters of cadet colleges Mastung, Chaman, Panjgoor, Kohlu, Pishin, Noshki and Killa Saifullah were also brought under consideration. Secretary Higher Education Ghulam Muhammad Sabir, Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan Abdul Jabbar and Project Director Cadet Colleges Balochistan Imtiaz Buzdar were also present on the occasion.
